As an Oncology NP or PA, you will play a crucial role in assessing and managing patient care, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care for patients with cancer. **Position: Oncology Nurse Practitioner (Consideration for Physician Assistants)**
- **Coverage Duration**: June, for an initial period of 3 months with the possibility of extension based on need.
- **Work Environment**: Outpatient oncology clinic.
- **Work Schedule**: Monday to Friday; coverage involves two providers: one from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM and a second from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
- **Key Responsibilities**: - Providing clinic-based coverage that includes follow-up appointments for established patients as well as evaluations for new patients at 3, 6, and 12-month intervals.
- Managing communications with ancillary services, ordering oncology-related diagnostic tests, and handling medication refills.
- Monitoring ongoing treatment for patients and conducting pre-chemotherapy assessments.
- Proficiency in performing Bone Marrow Biopsies is preferred but not mandatory.
- Engaging with both inpatient and virtual patient consultations from the clinic.
- **On-Call Requirements**: No on-call responsibilities.
- **Patient Volume**: Anticipated daily patient load of approximately 12-15 patients.
- **Essential Qualifications**: Recent clinical experience in oncology is a must.
- **Electronic Medical Record System**: EPIC. -
**Required Certifications**: Current Board Certification and BLS certification (American Heart Association).
